Daniel and the Lions
Daniel en el Foso de los Leones
Daniel was a man who loved God very much. He prayed to God three times every day. The king liked Daniel and wanted to make him an important leader. This made some other men very jealous. These men made a bad law. The law said that for thirty days, people could only pray to the king. Anyone who prayed to God would be thrown into a den of lions. But Daniel kept praying to God three times a day, just like he always did. The jealous men saw Daniel praying and told the king. The king was very sad because he liked Daniel, but he had to follow his own law. So Daniel was thrown into the den of hungry lions. The king couldn't sleep that night. Early in the morning, he ran to the lions' den and called out, 'Daniel, did your God save you?' Daniel answered, 'Yes! God sent an angel to close the lions' mouths. They did not hurt me!' The king was so happy. He took Daniel out and praised God.
¡No me hicieron daño!' El rey se puso muy feliz. Sacó a Daniel y alabó a Dios.
