David and Goliath
David y Goliat
David was a young shepherd boy who took care of his father's sheep. One day, his father sent him to the battlefield to bring food to his brothers who were soldiers. When David arrived, he saw a giant named Goliath. Goliath was over nine feet tall and wore heavy armor. He shouted to the Israelite army, 'Send someone to fight me!' All the soldiers were afraid. But David was not afraid. He said, 'I will fight this giant!' David took his sling and chose five smooth stones from a stream. Goliath laughed when he saw the young boy. But David said, 'You come to me with a sword and spear, but I come to you in the name of the Lord!' David put a stone in his sling and threw it with all his strength. The stone hit Goliath right in the forehead, and the giant fell to the ground. David's faith in God helped him defeat the giant.
