Pentecost
Pentecostés
After Jesus went back to heaven, His disciples waited in Jerusalem as He had told them. About 120 believers were gathered together in one place. They were praying and waiting for God's promise. It was the day of Pentecost, a Jewish festival when people came from many countries to Jerusalem. Suddenly, a sound like a mighty rushing wind filled the house where they were! Then they saw something amazing. Tongues of fire appeared and rested on each person. The Holy Spirit filled all the believers. They began to speak in different languages they had never learned. People from many countries were in Jerusalem for the festival. When they heard the sound, a crowd gathered. Everyone was amazed because they heard the disciples speaking in their own languages! Peter stood up and explained, 'This is what God promised! He has sent His Holy Spirit.' Peter preached about Jesus. About 3,000 people believed and were baptized that day!
